This week we will be continuing our poetry unit.  We will be learning about stanzas, rhythm, and meter in poetry. Watch the video below of a Jack Prelutsky poem, "I Tried To Do My Homework."  Did you enjoy the poem? Can you relate to any of the words in this poem? What elements of poetry did you notice in the poem (rhyme, rhythm, figurative language, etc)?

    Yes I enjoyed this poem. The title of the poem "I tried to do my homework" I can relate to it because I sometimes have difficulty with my homework. I like the poem a lot. The poem had a rhythm and rhyme.

      I like this poem. I think I could relate to it because I do my home work and that's sort of what the poem is about. I noticed that the poem rhymed and had rhythm.

      Yes me to I think that it has rhyme and rhythm to.It was a very enjoyable poem and I could relate to the poem because I do my homework and get lots of questions right on the worksheet.

    I liked this poem and I liked the way it rhymed. I read this poem and others by this author with my mom. I liked the personification in the last line when the science homework ate his dog. That was really funny. -- Chuckles Rzeppa

    In the poem I noticed that it rhymed and it has rhythm. I can relate to the poem, because I have had trouble doing my homework too. I also thought that the mood of this poem was funny, because he tries to do his homework and funny things happen when he's doing it!!!
