Reading Fluency Practice

To test your reading fluency, we use the Dibel's Reading Assessment. If you're interested in improving your fluency, print out some of these passages and practice at home.  Your goal should be to read more than 100 words per minute on the "4th Grade Ave" passages.  Use a stopwatch and check your fluency, or practice with a parent! The only way to become a better reader is to practice, practice, practice!

As Thanksgiving approaches, we should all reflect on things we're thankful for. I'm thankful for many things...my family, my health, my freedom, and each one of you (just to name a few!)  What are some things that you are thankful for?

Types of Sentences

Watch the "Types of Sentences" video.  Type a sentence of your own AND tell what type of sentence it is...exclamatory, declarative, interrogative, or imperative.

Quotation Marks

This week, we are focusing on the language skill of using quotation marks.  We have focused on specific rules to follow when using quotation marks.  Can you type a sentence using quotation marks correctly? 

Example: Ms. Vaughn said, "Get out your red folder."
